Breton Stitch

And so the armadillo nears completion…

Breton stitch is in the herringbone family.  It has an extra step that puts a twist in the top part of the stitch.  It’s just enough to make it interesting.I’ve made a double ended swirl with the new stitch, in light blue crewel wool.A French knot in yellow gold to accent each post.And finished with straight stitch to fill in the spaces.

All the parts of the armadillo are finished and ready to be assembled!
