A Doll Named Shakti

Actually, she is not the first Shakti. But she is the latest and she will be traveling and on display at the International Quilt Festival in Houston at the beginning of November as part of the Treasures of the Gypsy Challenge.

Shakti 4The challenge pack included the three fabrics used on her legs, skirt, and sash. There were also some of the trims and the lavender lace. Shakti 5Shakti 6To see her unclothed body, click here. She is a stump doll of sorts and not at all the typical doll shape.

After IQF, she will continue to travel with Pamela Armas of Treasures of the Gypsy as a sample doll for my pattern, also known as “Shakti.” For those who frequent shows and are familiar with Treasures of the Gypsy, you will know that she does have treasures to sell in abundance. She also sells this pattern. For those of you who want it now, it is also available online at Doll Makers Journey.

Wow I love her! I am going to order the pattern soon.I have a lot of silk in my stash and a beautiful piece of sari fabric waiting to use in creating this doll. Love stump dolls and this one is so unique! Thank so much for the work you do for us doll makers. I have designed a few dolls in the past and do not enjoy the process. I love making dolls so I am so thankful to those who enjoy the designing process and share the designs with those of us who want lovely dolls.
