Take a Stitch Tuesday-2013

After several weeks of vacation, Sharon over on Pintangle has started the stitching challenge up again.  This year she is doing a continuation of last year’s challenge instead of starting over.  She has also changed up the format a bit.  There’s no weekly deadline to get something stitched now and she is encouraging participants to combine stitches and get creative.  I wouldn’t say this is remarkably creative, but my first effort for 2013 is a combination of last week’s stitch–knotted feather stitch, and this week’s–inverted feather stitch.  It was time to get out my armadillo, still in progress, and continue on with his armor.  His tail was a good place to use these stitches.

armadillo tailThe knotted feather in aqua and the inverted feather in pink are both stitched in wool tapestry thread on a base of handmade needle-felt.  I added flowers and beading for embellishment.
