Checkered Chain Stitch

This week’s stitch from Pintangle’s Take a Stitch Tuesday Challenge is called checkered or magic chain.  You get to stitch with two different colors of threads at the same time in the same needle and the color of the stitch alternates.  How cool is that?

I’ve stitched 3 rows of two tones of brown in a checkered band with an additional row of Italian border just below that at the bottom.

The bottom of my doll shape is all filled in now, but there’s still plenty of room for more stitching on the top half.

Looks like a neat stitch to try but I won’t get around to it until the weekend. Such a small peak at your doll shape! I bet it’ll look fabulous when all filled in.
