Buttonhole Wheel Stitch

Take a Stitch Tuesday Challenge for this week:  buttonhole wheel stitch

A new prayer flag to join the one I made last week.

This is a stitch I’ve used to stitch the iris of eyes, but not one I’ve used just for itself.  I like the way it looks when massed together, especially with the different textures of an assortment of threads.

These are hand-dyed threads called “Oliver Twists” that I bought at the International Quilt Festival in Houston.  Over the years I’ve bought several color ways.  Who can resist those luxurious bundles?

The Oliver Twist threads are a ‘must have’ and with them you can make so many beautiful things, as you have proved in your piece. Lovely!
